BoryaXYZ is a Bulgarian Interdisciplinary artist working in the fields of crypto art, metaverse architecture and contemporary art jewellery.
Her works of art allow the experiencer to reimagine discarded objects and rethink wearability. Borya's virtual and IRL environments invite playful exploration via bending the body-bound sensations of time and space.
Her background spans traditional printmaking, architecture, speculative urban design and performance.
Exhibited and taught in Europe, Asia and virtually in the Metaverse.
Recent exhibitions include NFT Liverpool (2022), PROOF OF PEOPLE London (2022), Enter the Betaverse (2022), NFT Paris (2022) and YouTopia (March 2023).
Currently a Mentor at VerticalCrypto Art Residency.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I’m an intermedia artist who discovers connections between seemingly unrelated modalities and integrates them in wholesome homogenous IRL and ONL environments with unexpected outcomes.
I’m strongly inspired by the dialogue of the visual and the somatic. Contemporary Jewellery Art as a medium which engages the human body inspires me to explore the notions of the wearability of objects. It’s a portal to breaking the boundaries between art that lives in the gallery and art found on the streets in the shape of statement self-expression.
I’m drawn to projects that bridge physical and digital art and transcend their inherent limitations.
